If you are an EU citizen, you only need picture ID, like a driving license, check out the airline websites to see what forms of phopt id they accept.
If you are from outside the EU, then you need a passport |

YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BOARD ANY INTERNAL FLIGHT OR ANY FLIGHT LEAVING THE UK WITHOUT EITHER YOUR PASSPORT OR A NEW TYPE PHOTO DRIVING LICENCE. READ THE WARNINGS ON RYAN AIR EASYJET OR OTHERS. THE PASSPORT IS MERELY FOR IDENTIFICATION. |

if your flying with ryanair then an irish or uk driving license will suffice, however for other major airlines you do need a passport, the best thing to do is go to their website and and check out the rules and regulations page, identification requirements are usually the first on the page.. |

strictly speaking not if you are an EU citizen. buit you do need photo id if you are travelling with Ryanair.
if on the other hand you are not an EU citizen you will need a passport. |

no you don't - although you must have a form of photographic id, such as a driving licence but I take my passport when going to dublin as i don't drive. |

No you don't, but if you don't have one you will need a Photo Driving License or some other form of Photo ID, just so you can prove who you are!
Good luck and travel safe! |

You do need photo I.D.
If you've got a passport, just take it in case. I've seen Aiport and people often don't get on their planes! |
