Hello,
As Ireland is a member of the European Union, travellers from other member states only require any Photo Identification. enjoy your Holiday, for it is a wonderful place to be, If you see me mammy, tell her I am ok, thankyou and God Bless You.. Tony M

If you are travelling from England and are a British Citizen, you don't need a passport to travel to Ireland on the Ferry or by Air, but you do need some form of ID. The new driving licences - the one that has your photo on it, will be acceptable.
You can also take your dog with you if you're going by car - free on Stenna Line - just let them know - they don't write it on your paperwork though. Make sure you have your dogs birth cert and vet papers (just so you have proof your animal comes from UK).
Ireland is a beautiful country - Have a great time!

You will need some sort of photo ID
passport is best but I expect they will accept a new photo style driving licence

Yes, or they may accept a photo driving licence. Check with the ferry company you're travelling with.

It is just always a good idea to bring a passport or id card with you when going abroad, it might even be obligatory, I am not sure.
