All the previous answers have missed the important point. You say you are resident in Germany, but the important issue is what NATIONALITY you have - if you are not a German citizen then you may need a visa. Similarly the fact that Ireland is in the European Union, as is Germany, is irrelevant since Ireland is NOT in the Schengen area; the rules on the free movement of people between EU states applies to EU citizens, not to people from outside the EU. Click on this link: http://skyteam.com/EN/travelPlanner/timatic/index.jsp , select your nationality in the first box, state that you are a legal resident of Germany in the second box, and select Ireland in the third box.

ireland and germany are in the eu so u dont need a visa, same is for any eu country and the same if you want to work there, hence all the poles etc that are here.

Ruphus B Tripehound
a visa card would be handy its quite expensive but worth it

Irish Chica
No, Ireland is in the European Union.

If you don't have a german passport or any Euro passport you will. You'll also need lots of money.

doesn't matter where you are resident, it depends on the nationality of your passport. Ireland is not in the Schengen agreement, which means there are "border" controls if you are coming from Europe
