If they wanted to, they could have either one, or both. But I don't know of any advantage of that. In fact, the UK one might be handier, as you don't need a visa to go to US, whereas the Irish passport holder does. I don't know of any place the Irish passport would allow you into that the British one doesn't.

They can claim either, although I think most people have British citizenship as NI is part of the UK, but ppl born in NI can apply for an Irish or a UK passport.

They can choose, as far as I know. But two are possible.

All people born in N. Ireland can choose to have a British or Irish passport (or both).They also have an automatic right to live in the Republic .So basically individuals can choose .

You can claim a Irish passport aswell as a UK one.

My father was born in Antrim, in the North of Ireland. Not only can *HE* get a British or Irish passport but *I* can chose which I would prefer aswell.

The people in Northern Ireland can hold either British or Irish citizenship.
Most Catholics would opt for an Irish passport while Protestants would get a British one.
