Do people from the South of Ireland hate the IRA more than they hate the Loyalists?

Why When How

I'm not sure I fully understand your question.

The IRA are a terrorist organisation that thrive on fear, extortion, drug deals, arm deals, prostitution and all round nastiness. Plus they are very socialist.

Loyalists are Irish who want to remain part of the U.K.

So you are not comparing like for like.

Now I have not asked everyone in ROI what they think, but I can tell you I do dislike terrorists a lot more than ordinary people who choose by democratic means to be part of the UK.

I don't hate, but I do dislike cowards and both the IRA
and the Loyalists have shown themselves to be cowards.
How easy it must have been for them to place a bomb,
knowing that they were not going to be there when it exploded.

The majority of people in the south of Ireland hate any violent group, be they the IRA, the Loyalists or scooby doo and scrappy doo if they require cowardly violence to express themselves!

benny
there as bad as each other, nothing more than crimanals

im from the republic and thats a silly question, but personally i belief that the ira is nothing but scum

Wise_guy
During the Troubles, I hated the Loyalists much more than the PIRA, you only have to look at the way Nationalists were treated in the 60's and 70's to get your answer. The latest bunch of "IRA" though are a shower of wankers, no need for it.

As a Welshman I have visited Eire and Northern Ireland many times in my life the people there are peace loving and the welcome from both sides of the border is outstanding but like every where else in the world they have there extremists who will never be satisfied lets hope one day that they find the peace they truly deserve

Some support the IRA, but most just want peace. And whoever is trying to stop that, be it the IRA or the UDF, will be hated by the majority

We in the south consider the IRA to be homosexual perverts.

IRA is a terrorist group. Loyalists are just people loyal to the Union. If you mean UVF, UDA etc then that's different. Loyalists are to Northern Ireland as nationalists and Republicans are to the Republic.

yes, they're only looking for a reason to fight and kill people

i strongly agree with the first answer

The definition of loyalists is "Unionists who are willing to use any means necessary (including violence) to remain a part of the UK)"

Any terrorists are scumbags, end of. I'm from the republic myself, and any tiny minority trying to stop the peace process will not succeed.
