Sounds like the girl you met is just an idiot.
All people born on the Island are Irish. Even those with delusions of being 'british' (even though there is no such thing as british).

stitcherkf
Absolutely not. I'm from the republic and have lots of friends up north. We are all Irish after all. Guess she was just jealous of you!

Celtic lord
Hi,I live 5miles from the border..I'm in the republic..Of course we dont sure we are the same people just living on opposite sides of the border..Maybe she thought u were a protestant..maybe u are..idk..Or maybe she's just a ***** fullstop...U shouldn't let 1 indivual make u thin like that..

Barbie
We have nothing against you. Its the English that we have problems with!!! Ireland is Ireland not Ireland part England! If people from the north want it to be ruled by the english then why dont they just move to England??? It doesnt make sense to me!

You just met one girl .... most of us really don't care, to be honest, and take the person for their own sake, rather than all that political/emotional baggage. Unfortunately there are ignorant people everywhere!

deburca98
I would say that through out the day to day lives of people in the republic the majority of people dont have a second thought about the north, it dosent interest us, we have much more important things to think and worry about.
I have many friends from the north and it does not bother me, you have met a muppet but thats not what the majority think just as there are muppets in the north who dont like people from the republic
