Obama is a good man with a great Faith in people, to do the right thing. He respects his family and constantly includes his family in his life. He even kept his promise to his kids and bought them a dog. I do not agree with some of his policies. I am sure you know which one I am referring too.

But any great leader makes a few mistakes along the way. They have to make mistakes. The American bail out was a brave move by him. You have to take a big risk like that to sort things out. There was a chance it could have failed. But it did not yet, fingers crossed it will work out for America.

I hope America will get out of the Recession.

He has nothing to hide and even told people about his past mistakes. Such a person is always good in my opinion.

Families disagree on politics, Religion and other matters all the time. You just have to tolerate it. I can see where you are coming from.

It is best to discuss your debates among friends. Aldo, try and do this away from idiots that listen in. lol

Family and politics never mix. Most of my family are not even aware that I love discussing Politics and Religion. They think I like ā€pretty thingsā€¯, oh dear indeed.

Yes we like Obama because he seems to give a message of hope

I like him. He seems to be genuinely trying to patch up the relationship with Europe which Bush neglected so badly.

EDIT: Chloe both campaigns were a joke in that sense. it wasn't the fault of the candidates but of the electorate. They wanted stupid smear campaigns so that is what the media gave them.

i like him, i think america needed a change from republicanism. just look at what bush had done to the world's view of America

i breathed a sigh of relief when he was elected, the thought of mccain/palin made my stomach turn i mean he chose that idiotic woman as his running mate i wonder what other bad choices he would have made.

He is too Americanised- I know that sounds weird, but he is just too fake! His image as a wholesome family man is just so pathetic. In his entire campaign I heard more about his family pet or what his kids favourite food was than his actual stance on important matters.

the problem i would say that a lot irish people (including me) don't know what kind of politics obama does and stands for. irish people love obama because he is the first black american president and that he's very youthfull and out there.and i am sure that they tell themselves that any president is better than the one america had before ( and who got reelected a second time) if you are in cobh next time,go out on to the streets and ask people do they know what kind of politics obama does and is offering and i bet half of them wont be able to tell you.i notice that the people getting the thumbs down for their answers are those who aren't too sure of obama.don't we have the right to our opinions? i get four thumbs down just for stating what a think
