just euros...we don't deal with sterling in the republic! Have a great time in dublin by the way!


I should be doing something else
You can't use STG in the Rep but if you are venturing up to the North, most places up there will take the Euro if this is any help.

I don't live in Dublin, I live in a part of Ireland near the border with Northern Ireland, and here many shops take both sterling and euros.

That said, the exchange rate they give you is ABYSMAL.

euros only in dublin!!!
but if you were to go to N.Ire a lot of the border towns will accept Euro, but like in Toronto withe US$ the exchange rates are pretty bad

They only take euros! the only place in dublin that will take the english pounds is that bank!!

Yes. They take anything... Goats, cans of Guinness, you name it!
