No hun, you wont need a passport but you will need some kind of picture I.D, as they check it when you leave the ferry on the coach or car. If you are travelling with Ryanair, you will need a passport, other airlines though, like I said you will need some kind of picture I.D (They also can ask you why you are visiting Ireland) Good Luck XXX

If you are going to Londonderry, then No, your ignorance will suffice.

If you are going to Derry, you will need your passport and a bit more intelligence.

Bio-Hazard

if you are not coming from the eu you will need a passport, if you are coming from somewhere else then different passports have different requirements.

and if i were you i would start calling it derry, because that is the name of the city, and you can get yourself in trouble calling it londonderry, especially since the city centre is on the republican side of the river...

I assuming you are traveling from the UK mainland or EIRE & are British or Irish.& have British or Irish passport In that case you don't legally need a passport as you are travelling within the same country. If you are from overseas then you will need a passport. There might be stricter rules at the moment due to terrorism so would check with the airport or airline.

jetsam
if u go outside the uk 1st.if u call it londonderry in the wrong area of the city...gud luck 2 ya.

No You Dont But if traveling by plane you will need one as after 9/11 they are very strict on who is traveling on their planes. If you go by boat they will not ask to see your passport.

If you travelling from UK as a British citizen, it may be safer to take your passport, as you need something with a signature on.

You dont need one at all. Once your in the EU you can travel anywhere int he EU without a passport.

If you do go there just BE CAREFUL about what you call the place.

If youre talking to a Catholic call it Derry
a Protestant call it LondonDerry.
