What a ridiculous question. As in any group of people there are those who are nice and those who would stab you as soon as look at you. I'm Irish and there are a great deal of people who I would very much like to avoid due to them being evil, nasty bigoted arseholes, but then there are some who are genuinely very friendly indeed. |

Most people are friendly provided they don't feel threatened. In any group of people there are going to be some who are not. This applies as much to the Irish as any other nationality. |

Many are extremely friendly but, as in every country, there are some ignorant ******* who wouldn't pee on you if you were on fire. In fact they would probably be the ones who set you on fire. |

I'm biased, but the Irish are easy going, usually friendly folks, not above telling the odd yarn which may or may not be the truth, but all the more fun for the telling. There is the Blarney Stone, which, once kissed, gives you the gift of the gab (speech for those unfamiliar with the expression), the Giants causeway, several explanations for this wonder of the world and ask any Irishman/woman about their part of the Emerald Isle and you cannot stop them talking for hours, provided they are sustained with the black stuff. Aye, I'd say they were a friendly people. Don't take my word for it, go see for yourself. |

Irish people arent over the top friendly were just normal!
American people think the Irish people are very very friendly and that Ireland is really cool, but this is just because in Ireland (just like England, France, Germany and nearly all European countries) we take it easy. We do our job, our hours, we look after home and then we relax!!
In America, with no offence ment, it's all work, work, work there's no time 2 just relax! Like the Irish aren't that bad with the drink just that we go out alot appose to the U.S. where ye dont go out as much it's just that when ye do ye take alot. We might go out every week but it's mearly sociable |

**** yeah more so then any other European people!!
you have old people that will speak to you in Irish depended where your from but they would only be haven the crack with you then more in land you have the locals given you a run of your money if you can take a joke well then you'll fit in grand no worries,
but it all depends what kinda gob shin your going to be do you wanna fit into a group or do you want a group??
but yeah be a mug and you'll be OK be yourself and you'll get on great!!! |

In general, I have found Irish people to be very friendly. I was made to feel very at home when I was a tourist in Ireland as opposed to being a tourist in the southern US, for example (I use that as an example because my accent marks me as a tourist in both places). I'm sure it helps that I love good songs and drinks ;) |

Some are, some aren't - most will talk to you but that doesn't make them your friend.
Good & bad everywhere. Lots of prejudiced people here too.
You must make your own mind up. |
