Do you believe that the Ryanair takeover bid for Aerlingus will go ahead before 2010?

Title says all, really. I believe that pressure from the Irish government will eventually persuade Dermot Mannion to accept Ryanair's offer.

What do you think?

I would bet my house on it.... it will never happen.

Michael O' Leary will probably get his way in the end. He usually does.

A good business man, but he has no scruples!

i hope not, o'leary talks the talk alright but it would be bad news whatever way he spins it. its better to have 2 competing with each other then just one. what would you prefer... to have only one brand of shops like dunnes stores or several, the more there is the more they compete with each other and prices goes down. its the same in any business!

Aer Lingus is in a much better financial situation than Ryanair is. Michael O'Leary is all about soundbites and photo opportunities. He likes to play to the media, believing no publicity is bad publicity. He hasn't a hope in hell of taking over Aer Lingus, because everyone knows that if he did, he would ruin it. There will be no takeover.

I think it is quite likely.
