Ireland is one of the most expensive countries in Europe!
There is nothing poor about it.
The standard of living is very high and prices almost exorbitant!
It is now entering into a severe recession but still remains very expensive to live there.

hippo
per capita, its the second richest in europe and in the top 10 in the world, so.. obviously no.

Throughout the Celtic Tiger era Ireland out performed all of it's Euro counterparts.Have you seen the mansions that were thrown up during that period? The country was awash with money and we consistently topped happiest European polls. Can't be bad,eh?

no way!! its soooooo expensive and its really prosperous!!! definatly not poor no way, the irish give the most to charities in the whole of the EU!!

Poor nations usually have very very cheap cost of living if someone in a 1st world nation visited.

Most people on this Earth in first world would struggle financially here, at least in the beginning.

So no

Eh far from it, second richest in europe infact and in the top ten in the world. Highest standard of living in the worls too.

Dollsnatch
Ok, really not.

Ireland is one of the wealthiest countries, not just in the EU but in the world.

Ten years of a booming economy would suggest that, eh??

So would our charitble givings per head, and our overseas aid program, one of the best in the world.

Both Spain, Portugal, and even the UK fare below us.

And this is from a biased, I live here kinda way, I know this from my studies of economics.

And frankly, Im slightly baffled buy your question.
