I have been in Northern Ireland only once, 1993, and it was anything but boring.
Went to the Giant's Causeway, a small town next to that, and to Derry and loved it. Of course, leaving Derry we heard of a bomb explosion that afternoon we where there, so that made it different exciting.
But lovely people, lovely country side and the history is just amazing too - even if not always easy.
Didn't go to Belfast, was scared then, but must have some great culture there, including stuff for young ones to do..so..nope, I think its lovely. |

I don't think so, I've been to Belfast a few times and I think it's a great night out. There's a cafe somewhere in Belfast called Springstein's (i think) and the food there is something else, we always go there.I'd nearly drive up just to eat in that place. Been to Newry once or twice, Carlingford and Warrenpoint and always had a good time. So, no I don't think it's boring.
Im in Dublin by the way. |

Nah, it's great here. Plenty of stuff to do and tends to be cheaper than the rest of the UK. We have such a colourful culture and history here that's it's impossible for us to be a boring country.

If you knew the history you would know its not boring!Had some of Ireland's High Kings rule for years it had a spiritual and intellectual influence across Europe for centuries was the center of war and plantation from a foreign King invaded and defended and defeated have some of the most famous scholars poets and writers known to man!Revise up on the history of the place and you will not be bored!I mean it even played a vital role in the two world wars and it still makes head line news most recently for all the right reasons!!! |

I certainly do not think n. ireland is boring .
Enniskillen is very attractive town ,and recently attended a burial service at the town of Garrison .The lakes there are quite spectacular ,even in the pouring rain .
I will try to visit this area at a happier time in the future . |

Northern Ireland is anything BUT boring. It's beautiful and it has a fantastic, rich history. Derry/Londonderry (depending upon your leaning) is a great city - gorgeous murals, friendly people - GREAT shopping. Giants Causeway, the castles, the rope bridge (now THAT ain't boring!) are all not boring - at least not for people that don't live there. If you're really bored, go to Ballycastle and visit the friary ruins. There's a grave marker around the left side of the church (as you walk in facing the building). It is about 2 feet tall and leans a bit to the left. The top has a very eroded angel face with wings coming out each side of the face. You can't read the writing on it any more. Four years ago, I took a picture of that headstone simply because it attracted me. When I got the film developed, three goulish red faces appeared in the picture. When I went back last March, I visited the headstone again and took another picture - this time digital. The picture came out with a large red streak across it and a face was pictured in the grass, to the lower left of the picture. I went in the daylight, but it was raining both times. That's not boring either. Northern Ireland - especially the coastal towns - is too beautiful to be boring. And everyone I've met there, with the exception of three young hoodlums that needed their fannies smacked, was wonderfully friendly. |
