There are positives and negatives.
Positives:
Bring Business and money
Tourism

Negatives:
Accidents, injuries etc.

Theres more positives than negatives!!!

still high levels of disposable income around
shortage of such amenities - success of Dublin on Ice, Santa's kingdom etc. suggests demand
falling property prices make it more feasible
high level of year round tourism - not just focussed on summer
revenue stream likely to be neutral to weather conditions if built right

Con's
Public Transport and road access would be a problem
Costs of labour in Dublin are high
Labour shortage could be an issue
Insurance is expensive
Planning and building is slow in Dublin

Surely you need to tease you question apart?

Dublin is such an important city in the development of the British Isles (sorry about this term) that you need to have a theme park not too tacky dealing with the amazing history of this city. You can go from Viking times through English rule, all the through 'The Troubles' to the 'Celtic tiger 'age of tofday.
Underpinning this is a history of religion, art and literature. Why has Dublin produced so many great writers of world standing??
What about the sporting history?

Dubin has a twin sister not too far away in my home patch, Liverpool. You cannot deal with the development of one without the othedr!

All this makes a funfair Alton Towers style quite an unnecessary sideshow.

there is no place (space) in Dublin, but the idea is great.

maybe in the countryside, or in a suburb outside of the city..

I have always thought this was a good idea, maybe not in Dublin though, just outside it in maybe Wicklow/Meath or Kildare would be good though, fairly central and accessable and loadsa land to play around with

Yes, it would keep the kids off the street. The fair ground in the RDS -Funderland- at Christmas has a large number of visitors. This gives you a good idea as to how viable the idea is.
