Christine

Do you think there will be a 'final straw' to bring down this government?

Firstly there was the €33k pay rises for themselves, then no medical cards for the over 70's, then cut backs in education, then 12 yr old girls were told they can't have a potential life saving vaccine, now, theres the €200 parking tax UNLESS YOUR A TD!!! And of course there is the demonetisation and cut backs in public sector, which sector would they like to cut more, teachers, nurses, gardai, social workers dealing with the most marginalised? Or the very people paid to administer their policies, and take the flack? Sorry for mini rant, but I think I've officially had enough. I'm just wondering whats else is to come.
Additional Details
Enda may be the alternative, (if alternative is even the word), but it annoys me when their tax saving ideas are 'exclusive' to some parts of the population, and the effects of these taxes will be minimal, to put it mildly.

They say that people deserve the government they get Christine, and we hope that all those people who voted for Fianna Fail are happy with themselves now.
The problem is the Greens. They're so scared of being decimated by an early election that they're going to cling to power for as long as possible. We can't wait for the next election to see those lentil eating sandal wearers lose their seats and go the same way as the PDs.
And even though TDs like Finian McGrath have finally seen sense and withdrawn their support for the government we're still going to have buffoons like Jackie Healy Rae propping them up. Even when it comes to dissent from within their own ranks the FF machine will see to it that they'll come round. We had that Jim McDaid fella jumping up and down last week about the withdrawl of the cervical vaccine yet when it came to the vote the yellow belly only went and abstained!
The truth is that Fianna Fail are scared shyteless at the moment because they know that if an election is called any time soon they'll face a meltdown the same way the Tories did in the UK in 1997.
They'll cling to power for as long as they possibly can, be it by hook or by crook.

Edit:
Sponge: Do you not think we should give a Fine Gael/Labour government a chance? We're tired of people saying there's no alternative. THERE IS!
Do you think a Labour/FG coalition would have tried to take the medical cards back from the over 70s or rolled back on the cervical vaccines while at the same time bailing out the builders by putting over a billion euro into a scheme primarily designed to keep house prices artificially high and ensure that builders and developers don't lose out?
The Fianna Fail party is first and foremost a friend to the high flyers and developers. You only had to enter their tent at the Galway races every year to see a who's who of trickies and tax defaulters. It was this greed and avarice which got us into this mess in the first place.
Surely the alternative is better than the current shower?

@Podge and Rodge: as one poster asked, whats the alternative? Sinn Fein? I don't think so and Enda Kenny has no policies of his own, he just criticises (rightly admittedly) the policies of the current gangsters in charge. I think the final straw will be the economic recession going from what is currently very bad to complete free-fall. Share prices across the board will hit rock-bottom, banks will fail, unemployment will rise and the eventual bail out by the EU may bring about the collapse of the current government. Who to replace them, I do not worry. I prefer to put it out of my mind, but I will say to those who vote the same government in time and time again, stop complaining and enjoy the mess you've created.

I never hear anyone praising the government, so who the hell is voting them in? People seem to just vote for their local Fianna Fáil TD just because that's what their family have always done. I see this in my own family. People have to start thinking properly about who they're voting for.

The last thing you want is Fine Gael in power during a recession and that has been proved time and time again.

The country is in s*it because there is a GLOBAL recession. The Irish government aren't that important that they can do anything to prevent a global downturn. This government led us through our finest moments and as soon as something crops up that they have no control over the masses start baying for blood. Let Fine Gael get in but don't complain when things continue to get worse. Fact is things are going to get worse regardless of who is in power and I would rather not have dopey old Enda Kenney running this country.

Maybe if Labour grew a pair and dropped Fine Gael I would give them my vote but seeing as that is unlikely to happen I will continue to vote Fianna Fail.

Frankie
The government seem to be great when there's money sloshing around, but they are floundering in the new situation and don't know what to do. I can't see them lasting much longer. The other crowd will probably get in and take the unpopular decisions, while FF throw stones from the safety of the opposition benches. Then when the upturn comes,FF will be back with a bang, bribing us with our own money and looking after their wealthy mates. It's the Irish way - can't fight it.
