Euros. It's not part of Britain.

The Republic of Ireland, which is the south, is part of the Eurozone and therefore the currency there is the Euro.

Northern Ireland is part of the UK, so they use the pound sterling.

froggyontop

The Republic of Ireland uses Euros, while Northern Ireland (part of the UK) still uses the Pound.

bad exchange rate from US $ to the pound!

The Republic of Ireland has euros and the North of Ireland (not including Donegal) uses pounds because It is part of the UK.

The Republic of Ireland uses the Euro. Northern Ireland uses the pound sterling - however many border towns of Northern Ireland will also accept the Euro. Derry, Newry, Armagh and so on are quite happy with Euro BUT the exchange rate isn't always very good.

We use the Euro. It is divided into 100 cents. Officially there is no such word as euros (or so we were told when the currency was introduced). In practice, however, everyone says euros. I am speaking for the Republic of Ireland as that is where you have posed your question. Northern Ireland (part of the United Kingdom currently) uses pound sterling.

MochaBeansMom
