Being an American company they are probably following the astronomical seasons, which the US recognises, in which Spring starts in March, whereas Ireland follows the traditional Celtic seasons with Spring starting in February.

To all of the smartasses:
In Ireland spring traditionally starts on St. Bridgets day which is the first of February.
McDonalds are American though so I suppose they don't follow the same tradition...
