Definitely not coming down here, everything seems to be creeping up slowly. Diesel that has come down a little here but grocery shopping definitely not. I check my till receipts religiously as most shops try to rip customers off by special offers not showing on your receipt. When you get to know the prices of certain items off by heart you notice when they creep up a few cents.
There is still the discrepency of £ to Euro prices in Dunnes etc, there was a mens jacket with the price £20/€28 on it the other day. That was the exchange rate about 4 years ago. What a rip off they are virtually equal now.
I wanted to buy a global gift at Christmas off Oxfam Ireland, and the price was £10/€15 I complained to the girl on the phone but she hadn't a clue what I was talking about. Told me to use the UK site. Why should it be more expensive for us?
We'll have to see what this "mini" budget holds ? |

The only things that have come down are clothes and houses.
But people don’t give a crap about looking nice these days.
Aldo I got a grand pair of bootleg shoes new for 2.50euro.
I am serious.
If you are rich you could get a house for cheaper.
But food is still bloody dear.
Tis 2euro in some places in Cork for flipping bread.
I go make my own shall I, like the little red Hen?
The joke is that my first round in the pub for two friends and me costs more than my entire Going out outfit.
And it would be a nice outfit not some fertiliser bag sort of thing.
I am forced to drink pints in my local homeland in Cork.
Well I was never good at acting classy anyway.
Cost 3euro for a half pint
But 4.60 for a full pint.
So I venture elsewhere out the county to annoy people.
At least I can get my pints worth then.
You get great deals on Hotels but that is pretty much it.
The cost of regular living minus the perks is dear.
The bus has gone up about euro every year for a trip here, for years.
And the Government want us to take the bus, hmm.
The cinema is only cheap in the summer at 11.30am in the morning.
But that is only in the Summer time.
Euro2 is still the same but you cannot get all your shop there.
Unless you can live off noodles and chocolate.
Things will go down all right.
The whole country will.
Basic maths you go up so high you are heading for a big fall.
I will have my broadband set up in the Galtess in my wee cave at that stage.
Have a few veg at the back.
I must acquire a man that hunts and makes good alcohol though.
Then I wont give a crap.
Aldo I feel sorry for people who are older and have acquired things all their life.
They may lose it now.
And they are good people.
That is very sad.
Personally I do not care about my own circumstance.
I have no kids to support and youth, looks and a bit of brains will always give you an advantage in Life once the Depression storm has passed away.
Sad but true. Life is vain and cruel.
There are worse things than being poor.
You could be dead.
And where would the fun be in that?
I would not be able to annoy anybody.
Isn’t it better to be born and walk through shite than to never have been born at all? |

i cant tell you how many of my friends and family are signing on the dol and job seekers!
and how f(u)cking dare those fat ugly downsyndrom (p)ricks take the money we worked hard for, take are pensions, and money from old age pensioners whilst they sleep tight in there expensive beds in there huge houses, and drive big company cars to work with personal gards!
this country is ******!
do you know that tuesday morning two girls were beaten and raped by 5 polish men? all men were caught and then set FREE on baile?? whilst in sligo they kept some chinease lads in custody for 6 days because they were growing weed in there home! so aparently in this country, growing weed is worse than rape and assault?

america thought bush was bad! are government makes him look like a ******* genius!!!!!!!!!! |

rents are starting to come down slowly, but still very expensive for what you get. Also ive noticed some shops and restaurants seem to have more special offers on, prob in an attempt to get the customers in....but again they could do better. Most of the offers are on things that i dont really need.
Essential stuff like groceries and esb bills havent tho...i still dont understand why the esb havent reduced their prices after they got away with jacking them up so much last yr.
And we vote for politicians, apparently they are supposed to answer to us...so why dont they consult us before they go giving themselves a pay rise?? |

no cost of living is always going up.
while things may be cheap at one time another time the price rockets and vice versa.
if cost of living wasnt going up, a pint of milk would still be 20p and a loaf 45p |

cost of living is most definitely still on the rise!! Although my electric seems quite reasonable and steady at the moment - long may that last. Groceries are getting costly, the pasta I usually buy has doubled this year alone. Pasta and passatta sauce used to be my cheap meal! |

The cost of living will not come down, just by using cap and trade as an example. This TAX will cost each and every one of us an average of $1300.00 a year.
We have paid and will continue to pay another million dollars for Pelosi's military flights to go on vacations and yet they ask auto maker if they took the train when they went to Washington.
We are not only going to see prices going up, but also any new taxes.
As for your last question, I can only surmise that people are going to get mad as hell and they will only take so much.
