Does anyone know much about Irish Country Music?

can someone from the South of Ireland or someone that knows the music scene down there please help me? I live in Belfast and can't find the type of upbeat Country Music thats played in the pubs or venues up here!!!

I need to know names of singers and group/bands, I'm especially looking for the guy that sings Galway Girl on the Magners advert up here! I'm not sure if its on the Bulmers advert aswel!!! Most people say its Steve Earl but I have that version n he sounds different!

Also, could someone please tell me names if live bands/singers that work the pubs.

thanks to anyone that can help!

Steve Earl sings Galway girl with Sharron Shannon accompanying. But the one on the bulmers/magners ad is Munday

Haven
Galway Girl is sung by a band called ''Mundy'' and is available on iTunes :)

Podge and Rodge Tribute Band
Steve Earl wrote the song. Mundy 'borrowed' it from him.

We're big fans of the oul Country and Western ourselves. We love TR Dallas, Big Tom and the Mainliners, Ray Lynam and the Hillbillies, Philomena Begley and Susan McCann.
The very mention of Sandy Kelly brings Rodge out in a rash....

Steve Earl wrote the song years ago, then Mundy and Sharon Shannon recorded a live version that made the song popular. They have since re released Steve Earls version.
