angela n
you dont have a postcode.
the only places with postcodes is dublin
the rest is just county whatever

robppc20022002
ask your mum or the postman/woman who may also be your mum

Orla C
You don't have a postcode, dearie. Only in Dublin are postcodes required.

Trish D
You don't have a postcode if you live in Kildare.
The townland system in Ireland upon which our addresses are based is far more sophisticated than a postcode system. That together with the local knowledge a regular postman brings often means letters simply addressed to Name, near Town, Name of County can reach the intended recipient.

First off Dublin doesnt have postcodes but it does have postal districts.

Northern Ireland does have them but the Republic doesnt.

There is plans to introduce postcodes planned to be Jan 2008 but that is likely to be missed.

Ah for gods sake. You know we don't have postcodes. If you are tryin to set up another account just put down you live in england and use one of their postcodes.

No postcodes in Ireland. Even Dublin only has huge postal districts, rather than pinpoint postcoding.

there isnt a postcode system in ireland- except for dublin and northern ireland - if you ordering something online and they require postcode i just type none into the space- the government did think about setting up postcode but they decided it would be too complicated and expensive

soks098
if your signing up for something on the internet that requires a postcode just write 'none' in the box!

Why When How

Ah come on man. We do not have post codes here in the republic (except Dublin where there is a half hearted attempt to have them)

Why don't we have them?

Because it would be practical, useful and modern. Something which scares the hell out the government.
