No, I hate all variations of the accent; the inner city one, the D4 one and the one from telly that is only ever spoken on telly.

And I live, and have only ever lived in Dublin.

No slash intended, but you answered your own question. Also, i'd bet good money there's another 1,661,185 people who'd agree with liking the accent.

There's also probaly a good number of people who either emigrated away from Dublin or have visited Dublin before who would also agree with liking the accent.

Of course there's probaly a normal number of people who don't (not to be mean). I myself have never heard it, do know that there are some languages and language variations that are more appealing than others. Aribic and latin for one along with french, russian, and german all sound wonderful to my ears. At the same time, although a Dallas, Texas native myself, hearing backwater American accents leaves me feeling embarrased.

Might just depend on how you grow up and where.

There is not a homogenous Dublin accent - You can tell if people are from Dublin so there are things about the localized accents that are similar - Psuedo dubs can be found as far north as Kells - by Carnaross the people have been assimilated to Cavan accents- and as far west as Naas. I don't know about the south because the mountains are in the way. To the east is the sea but Dublinese has had a big impact on Liverpudlian accents.......

Some Dublin accents are less harsh on the ear than others.

The Dublin accent isn't too bad but we think that Leo in Fair City lets the side down for ye.

Personally, I hate all D4 accents. I like some Dub accents on lads, but I don't think any of the variations suit girls. It's weird.
