Dublin is the modern capital of Ireland, the island's largest city and the seat of the economic Celtic Tiger.
It's also the home of the National Gallery,National Theater,National Library, Both National Museums. Then there is the Dublin Pipers Society, the organization responsible for keeping the piping tradition alive during the dark days. Comhaltas Celtori Erin has their headquarters there. National School of Music,Trinity,UDC,world class medical care, a literary and storytelling tradition second to none. I suppose you could mention Guinness and Jameson.
Never forget the freedom fighters of the Easter Rising most of whom were musicians, writers and poets!
Dublin, the town hosts ripping sessions where my family has been having serious fun since 1014!
Lastly, Dublin important to me simply because I know and love the old girl. |

it's the capital of Ireland, the centre of the Irish economy, the most multicultural part of the country where the majority of major sporting/entertainment/public events happen. it's also a beautiful city where some of Ireland's most historical events have taken place like the 1916 Rising |
