Good for you! Dublin is a wonderful city and he zoo is situated spectacularly on top of a hill. It's VERY hilly and up and down there, so I don't know if is a good idea for wheelchair users in the first place. I would plan 3 hours, allowing some time to sit at the terrace and gaze at the view. To find out about wheelchair hire google "Dublin Zoo" and find out or call them. |

Hello,
Hey! You are going to have a great day at our Zoo, but leave yourself plenty of time to enjoy the whole place, plan on having your lunch there, and expect to be there for at least 4 hours, just to take it all in, in my younger years I would run everywhere, just because I couldn't wait to see the these's and the thats of the whole place, and would arrange to meet my parents at the main entrance if we got split up, (which we did often ). I need a wheelchair now for long times away from my car as I am 'leggedly' disabled, and I have to tell you, that pushing a wheelchair around the Zoo, is for strong people, as the Zoo is on top of a hill, and it covers an area of over 35 acres, and it's up and down everywhere, but for all of that it's a very exciting spectacle for everyone.
Getting to and from the Zoo is simplicity itself, but if I may re-iterate, it can be hard work getting aeound if you need a wheelchair, Have loads of fun, and take part in all the activities too, his is going to be a wonderful day, you will remember forever
and you will most definitely want to visit this Zoo again, and sooner than you can imagine. enjoy your visit, it's Great.... bye for Now. ...............Tony M |
