Dublin is the capital of the republic of Ireland. Here we don't call it Southern Ireland. Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland.

Dublin is the Capital of the Republic of Ireland and lies on the east side.

Lazyb*tch47 is incorrect - Northern Ireland is NOT part of Great Britain, Great Britain is the name of the island consisting of England, Scotland and Wales.

Northern Ireland is on the island of Ireland (Strangely enough) and is one of the 4 consitituent countries of the United Kingdom, and the capital is Belfast.

Dublin is in the Republic i.e the South. Its situated on the East border---> check this map:

Ireland is divided into two parts. The north is called Northern Ireland and with a north there must always b a south. Southern Ireland sometimes called republic has the caital city Dublin in that part. Northern Ireland is however part of the United Kingdom pf England Scotland Wales and Norhern Ireland. Belfast is the capital in Northern Ireland.

Neither. Dublin is a separate enclave within Ireland. Its inhabitants like to think of themselves as being 'different' from the rest of us. Native Dubliners are known as Jackeens.

agooddub
south of course.
