Dublin or Cork? |
I am moving to Ireland in the fall to be an aupair and am in the middle of choosing my family. The families are all pretty awesome, so basically my deciding factor is going to be location. I am a 21 year old recent college grad so it's important to me to be able to meet other people my age. One family lives right on the north side of the University College in Dublin, the other family lives within five minute walking distance from downtown Cork. I don't know much about either city, so help??? |

I don't know much about Dublin, since I was only there a day, but when I lived in Ireland for 4 months a couple years ago I lived in County Cork and loved it! I lived about a 40 minute bus ride from Cork City and downtown was by far my favorite part of living in Ireland. It would be great for you, to live so close to downtown because there's a lot to do and a lot of people. There's a big bus station that can take you anywhere, lots of shopping, restaurants, and theaters. I'm sure living in Dublin would be the same, but I guess I'm a little biased here. Plus, Cork is a good location to visit other towns and cities. Blarney Castle is close by, along with Bantry Bay, Killarny, and Limerick is a little under two hours. But I'm sure either way, whether its Dublin or Cork, you'll have a great time! |

hi you
its not that i am a cork man or anything there are a lot of people of your age group in both city and both have there good and bad spots but living in cork is a small bit cheaper then in Dublin were a little more friendly and been smaller the Dublin there is not a place you can go in cork without bumping into one or more of your friends |
