In E.U. countries you can NOT buy duty free unless you have a boarding pass for a country outside the E.U. They won't remove VAT or anything.
You'll actually get cigarettes cheaper in britain now considering the currency exchange so bring some with you if they're for yourself.

Sorry for the bad news but I'm in Ireland and the tax on cigarettes is killing me.

No. No chance. Impossible... unless...

When you go to buy the fags they ask to see your boarding pass to prove you are flying outside the EU. So the only option you possible have, is if you can get someone at the airport, a passenger travelling outside the EU and see if they will buy the fags for you if you give them the money... just make sure no one knows what your doing!

No it'll work out more expensive than in the u.k. Sorry!

T M
I think it's actually cheaper to buy them in the shops in England....

Orla C
You can buy cigarettes on the way back, but cigarettes are not cheap in Ireland.

Kris......
As The others have said they are probably cheaper in the UK, if, however you are going by ferry, you can buy a packet of ciggies ( as in 20) at a tax free rate, which were about 3.50 (last year), so we kept on going up and to different tills to get them or get other people to buy them,.

200 Marlboro Lights will cost you € 81 at Dublin airport. Duty free is not available to travellers within the EU.

Yes in the airport on the way out after you've checked in and gone through security.
