Evangelism in Ireland?

What do you think should be done about this, if anything?
Ireland, as a largely Lapsed Catholic country has only just got over our own freaky religious zealotry, and now evangelists are springing up around the country and immigrating in, my uncle is one and they are very scary people.
Three days ago I was meeting my gay guy bestfriend and his boyfriend and when his boyfriend arrived they they kissed very briefly, nothing over the top but two Nigerian girls who live near me started yelling about how they were making Jesus weep! And they're always preaching whenever we go into the city, and one of the teachers in my local primary is one.
How do you feel about Evangelism? I don't know what can be done that isn't religious persecution but it is damn scary to think Ireland might develop a BibleBelt

Our level of education here in Ireland is enough to combat this societal malady,we just don't except nonsence as fact here anymore. Not the latest generation, tis hard to stop the already indoctrinated older generation from falling for this mumbo jumbo but on the whole Ireland will become more secular not less.

i dont think ireland ever will become like that. sure you will have yanks and africans popping up here and there in urban areas like dublin many but ireland should be ok, i dont think the pople would ever take to that type of thing... except dublin but sure let the, have that!

I have been fortunate to never meet one, I also have bigger problems than Jesus weeping.

We are much too pragmatic (or maybe educated) to let it take hold.

are you serious? aw no. that sounds like absolutely no fun! religion and religious people annoy/scare the **** out of me.

well the first person who tries to give out to me or sway my opinion is going to get one serious atheist rant!

thankfully i have yet to see any of this. sound for preparing me!

'' War. Rape. Murder. Poverty. Equal rights for gays. Guess which one the Southern Baptist Convention is protesting? ''

the quote says it all... the mainstream Catholic view is that ur born gay, but its wrong to ingage in gay act(like kissing). Evangelists, are worse:( they believe u chose to be gay, and if u accpet Christ u can be ''set free'' from ur homosexuality. this is something ive tried and it didnt work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

i think dublin or large cities may fall under such influences but as science progresses it should make christians examine their interpretations of the Bible. who knows, maybe the evangelists will help the homeless, the sick and the needy??

That kind of holier than thou nonsense makes me want to tell those crawthumpers to feck off.

Seriously, they are as bad as the priests way back when ....

Live and let live, I say.
