Mayo. Towns are upbeat and modern, at the same time laid-back and relaxed, rural areas unbelievably beautiful, plenty of wild natural scenery if that's what you are looking for, and friendly people too. Fewer problems making it a safe place for young people to grow up ...... I'm glad I came to live here. No regrets leaving Dublin. |

I should be doing something else

Gus1399 what on earth? You do realise that Northern Ireland and Ulster are not the same thing, and they are certainly not counties?
Anyway - Couldn't choose between Galway, Cork and Kerry due to how unbelievably beautiful they are.
EDIT: What's with people thinking that Ulster is a county? |
|

Sshhhh! It's Podge and Rodge

Leitrim, because nobody ever mentions the place except us.

Cork, I live in County Cork so I'm biased. I also love Kerry, the coastline is spectacular, especially Ballybunnion beach |

Cork is definitely my favorite county. My parents grew up in Ireland yet moved to America when I was born. They would show me as much of the country as they could and yet I'd always be longing to go back to Cork. There's so much to do and so much to see. The people there are so unbelievably welcoming and are always up for fun. |

It's hard to nail it down to just 1 county, as they are all beautiful in their own way, but any county on the west coast is truly breathtaking.
If I won the lottery I would buy a cottage by the sea on the west coast and quite happily retire there 8-))

Donegal. I live here and I love it. I lived in England for five years, but I'm back at home now, and the first thing that struck me was how beautiful Donegal is. I couldn't believe I left in the first place. |

cork - biggest county in ireland and there are soooo many things to do and see, one minute you could be in the country, the next by the beach, the next in a city, it has the most beautiful scenery and a lot of culture... cork is the real capital! try visiting bantry or take a boattrip to sherkin island from baltimore... its class! |

I live in Clare, and I love it. The scenery, the music, the history are all there, the people are friendly and the villages and towns are lovely. My husband and I always spend a couple of days in the summer bringing our kids around all the sights and beaches so that they too can appreciate our lovely county.
Gus1399, you are a head case, you didn't tell us the name of a county and didn't even make much sense with what you did say. Maybe read what you write before submitting it! |

Id have to say Mayo, Tyrone or Limeric -the only ones ive visited, i like the ancient history and geography of the land. Fan of the old myths and legends so found just travelling through the country side interesting and peaceful.
Ulster is one of four provinces not a county. |

From Limerick but I adore Kerry.
The people in Kerry are amazing and so down to earth and funny. Not to mention that the county holds some of the most breathtaking scenery in Ireland as well as great tradition in many of their little villages. Go Kerry! |

To live in: Dublin because there's plenty to do and little chance of getting bored.
To visit/go on holiday to: Galway because it's preaceful without being boring and the scenery is amazing. Plenty of good beaches too. |

Wexford! because all my family are there and I absolutely love Enniscorthy

Wicklow, you have the sea and beaches such as Brittas.
The mountains and wonderful places like Glendalough, Powerscourt, Avondale.
The lakes from Lough Dan to Blessington.
The closeness to Dublin is a help for shopping and nightlife and theatre. But there is always the luxury if you can afford it to escape back to the country from the town.
It's only my opinion. Every county in Ireland has it's charm. |

Ulster DEFINATLY!!!!!! You have so much history an things like that all over the Antrim coast is beautiful, Portrush,-Bushmills Whiskey distillery, Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, Dunluce Castle. Giants Causway! Ballycastle...etc. Then theres the citys like Belfast, the harland and wolfe shipyard where the Titanic was built, Stormont, all those historical places. Then theres the likes of Donegal where im from. Georgeous secluded place, theres Killybegs where they have the fishing boats and The Gaeltacht were they speak Irish, (Not really into that myself but some people think its great)... theres sooo much to Ulster with the Plantation and all that, The Troubles, (Not a nice thing to think about but interesting all the same) With the Orange Order and 12th celebrations in July and August, Walls of Londonderry / Derry, Then theres things like the Galgorm Spa In Ballymoney (I Think) It Is Amazing!!! Enniskillen Lough, Ulster-American Folk Park In Omagh, Co.Tyrone. Ulster really is a fantastic place to spend your summer, theres so much to do! Im only 16 years old but ive had the best childhood imaginable seeing all these things!!... I could talk about it all day!
ULSTER AS A PROVENCE!... CANT CHOOSE 1 COUNTY, AND NORTHERN IRELAND IS A SEPERATE COUNTRY FROM THE REBUBLIC BECAUSE ITS PART OF GREAT BRITAN! |
