Ferry to Dublin??!? ?

In July I am going to Dublin, by ferry. I hate rough water.

Around this time what is the average kind of weather for any of the crossings?

Thank you x

crossing times
holy head to dublin port approx 3 hours

if you have booked up with stena line and are on mv stena ventura then your crossing will be a comfortable one.

we set sail in a force 6 (8 is the highest) due to it having stabilisers you hardly noticed how rough it was.

you'll be ok, I've done the crossing lots of times and it's never been very rough. I was in Dublin last month, it's a great city.

I always get the ferry to dublin from wales, and i hate rough water as I get very seasick.

It depends, really. Sometimes the water is completely calm in july, and sometimes it isn't... that's when I get seasickness.

Pooh Bear
It literally depends on the weather and how its feeling that day!
We have had some of the smoothest crossings when it felt like we were gliding on air to some of the worst where I took refuge in the childrens play area on the soft seating and refused to budge! I have never been so ill in my life. Another time I headed straight for the ladies, bagged a cubical and did not come out until we docked. Other times we have sunbathed and had a beautiful crossing.

You should be OK the seas are calm at that time of year

I've done it loads of times and the only time I had any bother was during a gale in December. You'll be grand. The boats are so big now they're practically weatherproof.
