Fireworks in Dublin on New Year's Eve?

I read that they do fireworks on New Year's Eve in Dublin but there wasn't any information regarding where they take place. Does anyone know?

Also, are there any activities (such as music) taking place in Christchurch Cathedral that night or it's just the bells ringing at midnight? Will there be any stalls where you can buy drinks?

I was just there last year and it is great! Everyone gathers around Christ Church right before midnight, and it is a huge party in the streets. There are a bunch of bars right there, but no drink carts in the streets. There are also no fireworks but there is enough street entertainment that you do not need them! A little while after midnight, everyone makes there way back into the bars and the clubs to celebrate. It is really fun, everyone is so nice and very laid back. The atmosphere is definitely worth the trip!

no fireworks here. I remember one year I went in to christchurch for the bells, there was a few people there, but not many. Our New Year celebrations all always been lame, to put it mildly

Dublin should be among the few cities in the world where there are no fireworks.

Go outside and look towards the city

Hey there,

Its just the bell ringing in christchurch, not much else, no fireworks. No drink stalls, but go to The Lord Edward pub beside Jurys Hotel opposite Christchurch and you can bring you're drink outside for the bells than pop in to finsh off the night.

Have fun
