Hello Eileen,
I am Irish ansd so very happy to remain so, and my love for this horrible woman has already been stated. Thatcher by name and 'snatcher' by occupation.. in the 1980s, she singlehandely shut down almost an entire industry of mining in England, and without even being in my country to supervise the actions of the legal system we have here, put more Irish people in jail, and she wasn't anything to do with the afore mentioned sysyem...
I know a man called David, who was a prison officer in England, he is retired now, but when asked how tough a prisoner that managed to assasinate Thatcher would fare on a life sentence for causing this womans demise, said that the prisoner would live a life of complete luxury, and would want for nothing, all through every single day of his sentence, from the Prison officers or the other inmates anywhere in the British and Irish penal system. That would make that prisoners Hard Time a whole lot Easier, even her husband was an alcoholic, which must have been some great comfort to him in his failing years, He was never ever seen at an Alcoholics Annonymous meeting, probably too drunk to remember he was supposed to be there..... So my answer to your question has to be that Yes, as an Irish person, with a clean concience up to now has to admit that I never had any love for that woman, and laughed when she wept at her resignation, Crocodile tears? you bet everything you got it was. she had no choice, even her own people hated her, and still do in my estimation. Oh Eileen I enjoyed answering your question.. Good Luck now..Bye...Tony M

I'm not Irish as far as I know...my ancestry is a bit unclear...but that woman is the only person for whom I've ever felt real hatred.

You must be aware that many of us Irish do indeed dislike or even hate MT, otherwise you wouldn't have posted the question. The primary reason many Irish dislike or hate her is because of her policy towards Republican prisoners in the early 80's, that resulted in the deaths of ten of the Hunger Strikers.

No.
She got your country out of the mire and you then voted in the male version. That was the daft bit.
