Actually that person is wrong, there would be a small chance of some remark in urban areas such as Dublin where immigrants are prevalant. Overall I would say theres a 99.6% chance you will get thru your stay in Ireland trouble free and you will enjoy the beauty and hospitality of our people. Enjoy! |

You'll be fine in dublin.
You may get odd remarks/stares in rural areas but nothing too bad.
Just remember you are in a foriegn land and don't get to offended by any remarks about the color of your skin. |

My husband & I traveled to Ireland in 2003 and were met only with friendlyness everywhere that we went. He is not caucasian & we are a "mixed" couple, which has posed problems when visiting the Southern U.S., but we have received nothing but kindness when traveling throughout Ireland. We drove all over, including through rural areas. I hope that your experience is as good as ours was. |
