bring a towel, bed sheets (sometimes the ones there are bad!) changes of clothes, money, swim gear, and i really don't get why ur saying shud you be skinny or curvy?!! seriously, do you think you can just change your body shape really easily???? I'm not trying to sound disrespectful in anyway, but are you going to learn the language, or get a boyfriend? because i've been there twice, and nothing happens...

When you get there, tell them Jake Stephens sent ya.

dugs
be the same as you would any where , the cloths you bring depend on which one you are going to

Times may have changed since I was in the Gaeltacht, but I doubt very much that the weather has. Bring practical clothes, jeans, tracksuit bottoms, lots of t-shirts, sweatshirts, and some pretty things for the ceilis, good shoes for walking, plenty of socks, your swimsuit, towel, and maybe a wetsuit if you have one for where you're going., tc.

Be yourself. People who act like something they are not tend not to be very popular. Be friendly to others, and you will find it useful to be in good physical condition when in the Gaeltacht - I found we did a lot of walking and cycling! Hours every day!

I didn't have any romances while in the Gaeltacht, but I know there were some. You will be watched like a hawk, partly to make sure you behave and partly to make sure you are speaking as Gaeilge! Don't make the mistake of trying to sneak off with someone if you do get into a romance, that's a very bad idea. It's only for 3 weeks, grin and bear it. You can always meet up with the person afterwards.

Looking back now in my two stints in two different Gaeltachts, I had a great time in both. It is what you make of it. And your Irish will come on in leaps and bounds.

The gaeltacht is brilliant fun I loved every min of it and I have to say my irish wasn't the best and before I went I hated Irish .... but after the gaeltacht I love the language. I went to Colaiste Lurgan in Galway.

Bring normal stuff, it might be cold so jumpers, bring swim wear because you do loads of water sports. There might be a few discos so bring some going out clothes and make up, lots of tracksuits and runners.

Also bring some sweets as well cause it's always nice to have some goodies stashed away.

Phrases ... well you attend class during the day so bring your irish books just normal stuff like "can I go to ....." and esp the phrase ... ni thuigim..... "I don't understand" lol
Act normally ... you'll meet some great people there and one or two romances may happen. Fat, skinny doesn't matter as long as you have the right attitude ... be open minded, go there to have the best three weeks of your life and you will enjoy it ...
Go néirí leat agus slán go foill.

Hi, I'm 13 and I went last year and going this year. Its really good fun.

Bring lke shorts, tops, hoodies etc but bring sort of like weird and wonderful stuff too, coz we have like themed nights.
Bring some good clothes too and good shoes for the disco and other good nights.
Don't act flirty. Seriously. Just act normal.
And it doesn't matter about your size, no one cares.
Em well they last for the whole 3 weeks usually but don't expect it to last afterwards.

EDIT: You don't bring books...
And just like 'Cad e an gaeilge le...' Whats the Irish for
Sure, can I, I don't understand, are you etc just general phrases.
You don't need to know them, once your there it just comes naturally.

Sshhhh! It's Podge and Rodge
