Galway for New Years Eve? |
After asking about events within Dublin on New Years Eve the answers didn't seem too promising, one answer however recommended Galway as a better destination. Can anyone give more information about New Years festivities within Galway, street celebrations, pubs, are tickets required for events - that sort of thing. Also if someone could recommend best location to stay within closeness of the festivities it would be most appreciated, many thanks to anyone who offers advice. Oh, we're a young(ish) couple aged 26 & 29. Thanks Additional Details Looking at hotels in Glaway, would

I've spent 2 New Year's eves in Galway and had a great time. There was nothing organised in the way of Street Festivities or Public Celebrations though-and the weather was just TERRIBLE both times (I'm Irish so I'm used to the bad weather but it was just particularly awful). There should be no problem getting in anywhere ie pubs or clubs though you would have to book a fair bit in advance if you want to eat out. |

we visit galway often and actauuly have stayed at this place. be prepared for a cold miserable weather, sun sets very very early (4 ish). no parade or any such thing, go pub crawl, stop by at supermacs for a bite after 2 pm and crawl back to bed. location is very very good for all of this. |

hi i live in knocknacarra in galway.def come 2 galway 4 new years, way better than dublin.way more friendlier here.better book hotel and resteraunt soon though.my favourite pubs would be ti na nog, living room, the skeff, busker brownes.most likely u will have to get tickets to go there cos they are all very popular.their is a hotel down the road from me called the clybaun hotel, very nice on the inside, book it now though.tel 091 588088.bus stop right outside the hotel tat gos in 2 town, one every 15mins.i would highly recommend da robertos for something to eat,its in salthill.book tat as soon as ya can as its very popular as well.

I love Galway, we stayed in the Clybawn hotel which is in Salthill in galway, its a little bit quieter than the city, but just as much fun, bar in the hotel is great, you can check it out online |
