Margaret Thatcher had the solution, Internment without Trial.
These thugs are not entitled to the same Civil Liberties as the rest of the population. They should be all apprehended and jailed and the key thrown away.
It's a disgrace that they can laugh at the police and the rest of the citizens of Ireland, and go about their murdering business with impunity.
Why are they allowed intimidate witnesses and murder the ones who give evidence against them ? and then laugh and sneer into the TV camera when the judicial system allows them to walk free.
Round them all up, take away their freedom, and to hell with the Bleedin Heart Liberals.

Limerick is having one of its weeks, I know a Guard in Limerick and they will tell you that they do not have much faith in this stopping, a lot of it is controlled from outside their jurisdiction, prison cells and Spain being just 2.

RedDevil
To be honest I don't know how the Gardai will ever be able to take control of the situation.

Gangland killings are totally out of the control and it does feel like the Gardai are unable to do anything about it. It does seem that there is a new killing everyday and that the gangs rule the streets now.

we don't have one a day it just seems that way because that's all we hear about in the news again and again, everytime the news starts and the presenter opens there mouth it's always "there was another gangland shooting " it's just so depressing.
I don't think it's a case that the Gardai have lost control more that there powerless to do anything about it. To be honest until innocent people were getting killed in the crossfire I didn't care to much about it because my attitude is let them kill each other off

Misty Blue
The gardaí have a tough job there alright.Maybe they need to be given some extraordinary powers in light of how bad it's becoming.

Efnissien
It isn't that bad. There haven't been that many killings in Limerick.
The Gardai know who's done it, who was the getaway driver & who supplied the firearm. It's just a matter of getting the evidence together. To paraphrase Gerry Adams, "They have to be lucky every time, we have to be lucky once"

Only in stab city!

there have 130 or so since 1999 and most of them were gangsters them selves dome Innocent people got killed too that is the sad part a famous gangster from the 80s commented you think we are bad wait till you see what comes after us its really safe to come here for holidays

Alan M
With the elimination of the IRA from the north now you need to do the same in the south. Its easy. Do like the UDA. Target their family and friends. That wil stop them. They need their family and friends.
