I agree with above: NUI in Galway is nice. Galway is primarily a student town with a flair to match. Nice alternative lifestyle combined with a bit of nerd.
Trinity College in Dublin is quite a prestigious institution, hard to get into and very academically focused. It's very traditional and has put out some of the finest minds in Ireland today. I've got a friend who is studying philosophy there and he enjoys it very much. The trinity "crowd", however, can be very arrogant, so that's something to watch out for.
Maynooth is bad: Mainly full of nit-wits who go to college in order to be able to party and get drunk.
Have a look at the two links for more info:

Hope it helps. |

Mr Glupen,
How dare you talk about Maynooth like that! It is a fantastic college and highly rated across the world!
In answer to the actual question, I would say a visit to NUI Maynooth is a must. If your daughter wishes to study science they have fantastic science facilities and are known to have the some of the best science courses. If she would like to study the arts, no better place to do it then Maynooth which is covered in history. It is the second oldest college in Ireland and the oldest catholic college. It is a beautiful place, and even if you don't decide to go, it is worth a visit if only from a historical standpoint!
In addition try UCD and Trinity, both are very good colleges with excellent facilities. |

I would recommend NUIG- National University Of Ireland Galway, in the west of Ireland. Its a beautiful uni, with excellent facilities and a wide range of courses. I was at an open day there and the students and staff are so nice. Check it out-

I would certainly visit Trinity College in Dublin, open since the mid 16th century and in the heart of Dublin city.
Also Maynooth in Co Kildare. Take the train from Connolly Station to Maynooth...a great place to walk around and have a look. |

I would imagine it would depend on what she intends to study. In Europe, you don't play around in a glorified high school setting for a few years before settling down with your subject of choice, you go straight into that subject of choice, no messing around. |

Sshhhh! It's Podge and Rodge

Letterkenny Institute of Technology - Twinned with Harvard. |

Well, it highly depends on what course she'd be interested in doing and what part of Ireland would be best suited. If you can supply these details then I'll help as best I can :) |

Mr.Glupen:
Do you have any clue whatsoever what you are talking about.
Maynooth was named university of the year.
They have the best history and geography departments in the country and a few of their other departments are up their too.
Our academic performances are no less than any of the other NUIs.
To answer the question:
If you are going to be in Leinster then go and see Trinity (most famous), UCD (the biggest) and NUI Maynooth (only uni not in a city).
If you are in Munster then go to NUI Cork
If you are in Connacht then NUI Galway.
Personally I would recommend NUI Maynooth or NUI Galway. |
