Going to Dublin for 3 nights 4 days, how much money should I take? How much is a pint, or a vodka and coke? |
I'm going to Dublin at the end of August, just wanted to know roughly how much money I should take....?
How much is: A pint of beer, a vodka and coke, a sandwich (premade in a packet) a bottle of water..... Just basic stuff really :-D
How much do you think I will need, I'll be going out drinking in Dublin centre on the Saturday and Sunday, however we won't be clubbing, just pubs. |

A pint is about €5.00 to €5.30, a vodka is €5.50, coke is sold separately, not as a mixer, you will get a whole bottle so you can get a few more vodkas on it, the bottle is about €2.60. (I think, i don't drink the stuff myself). The measures are also bigger than in the UK, so even if it does seem more expensive you are actually getting more for your money. The vodka will also be a known brand name.
Sandwiches are about €5.00, you'd be better getting a meal. bottle water is €2.00
A good night out in Dublin would costs about €70 per night, (for me) but it really depends on how much you drink, but you should get change out of that. As for shopping and food as I say get your dinner in the pubs - try the Porterhouse in Temple Bar, or the Hairy Lemon of Grafton St, dinner would cost approx €10 -€13 a go. So I'd take a total of €350 cash for 3 days, and put any additional shopping on your card. (that's approx £280 STG)
Enjoy your trip. I might just be out and about around the same time too. |

Do you know what? Ireland is in the 21st century!!!
They have cash dispensers in Ireland so just take your bank card and take out what you need!!
Then you won't have to worry about carrying cash around.
It is the same price in Dublin as it is in any major city - they even have a marks and spencer!!! Beer is about the same price - try the soup and sandwich bars - they are great!
Just enjoy the craic! |
|

Is máith liom cáca millÃs!
|
Beer will be about €4-€5, vodka and coke will be about the same, prepack sandwich will be anywhere from €3 to about €7, bottle of water will be from €1 in supermarkets to about €2.50 in some cafés.
Buy a travel ticket (weekend or just a day) for the bus and luas, it'll be cheaper than buying a ticket for each journey |

I'm going in three weeks, for the same length of time and it is expensive but what capital city isn't. I 'm taking £400 and a bit of plastic, but I go out a lot, I believe a pint is about 5 euro, the best person to ask is one of my contacts called Christine she lives there and can tell you all you need to know, she's very helpful.
well done Christine. |

Er um, vodka doesn't go well with Coke. Try a caffeine-free drink like a Sprite or a Fanta. Mmm! |
