yes you can :) It's Big Jack's fav place to fish for salmon. The best spots are in Co. Mayo. Look up Irish tourist board and fisheries. Possibly called Failte Ireland.

The Burren Smokehouse is located in Lisdoonvarna, County Clare. Try and get wild salmon, it's nicer.

Yes you can.A good spot for salmon fishing is on the lakes of Killarney. There is a few tackle shops in Killarney where you can hire a couple of rods for a day lead you in the right direction to hire a boat, sell you a fishing license and bait ,or you can hire a boat with a guide who will also supply you with fishing rods and bait. They also hold fishing competitions throughout the salmon season.I went to one of their competitions for a laugh a few years back after my husband for years hounding me to go fishing with him and I caught a 10
pound salmon.(my husband didn't want me to go again as he hasn't caught one that size yet).

all line caught salmon is the best, it doesnt matter if its canada or the arctic. but in ireland 8lb salmon no bother in rivers the only thing is the license. i'm not sure how much it is per rod but it aint cheap.

Look into it and you will find many places especially in Donegal for fishing Salmon.
I thought fishing Salmon was illegal but it obviously isn't after reading the other answers.
You may need a license and a special rod.

Good Luck. = )
