You know what you do.Complete the on line visa application for Australia and you'll know one way or another how you stand. You might still be ok.
Good luck Gerry.I remember your original question. |

Well, i haven't been in this position myself but I know that when you are applying for a visa to work abroad, they often ask if you have ever been convicted of something, in which case having a conviction like that might be a bit of a problem. I'm not sure if it would warrant a denial of a visa but I just know it's a question they ask. It may be a problem if you're applying to work in Oz because visas are getting harder and harder. I would imagine that you are able to travel to other places like the US and Oz no holidays, so i don't think you have something to worry about there. All it really means is its on your permanent record, and it's not like a drug trafficking conviction, don't worry, i doubt very much that you're forever confined to Ireland. |

Well for a start you really shouldn't go to Australia as you can't even spell the place! I would think that your chances of getting into USA would also be restricted - unless of course you say that you were carrying the knife for the Provies - in which case they'll let you in with open arms. |

Geesh, you had a KNIFE on you!! You don't know what that means...Most countries from the US to Australia will deny you access on the basis that they don't need anymore criminals. |

Theres a few things you can do. First of all, though, were you found guilty of having a pen knif on you? Untill your found innocent you probably won't be able to travel anywhere. You could always counter sue the airline that is charging you with possion of a deadly weapon... |
