yep-born in Ireland and living here all my life! lovely charming people, wet cold weather and loads of fun to be had-though it depends what you're in to and where abouts you're going.
west Ireland: fairly isolated, extra wet and cold but beautiful and scenic
dublin: brilliant shopping, tons of great pubs, restaurants and clubs, loads to do
rest of ireland: a mix of cities and towns-some good, some not so good.
enjoy yourself when ya come :D |

Yes, I've been to Ireland lots of times. In fact I've been all round Ireland, because I competed in the Circuit of Ireland Rally in the old days.
The first thing you should do is have a pint of Guiness. You will be amazed how they serve it, and even more amazed at how smooth it is.
By the time you have finished one pint you will have a dozen friends who will be happy to entertain you, so don't make any plans. Be prepared to learn what being laid back is about. Go with the flow, and join in the crack.
It's probably the best place in Europe for a holiday. |

Don't enjoy the crack (illegal) but the craic - the fun thing that happens when you least expect it. Only happens in Ireland.
Excellent place to holiday but expensive accomodation & the weather is unpredicatable though never too severe.
If you like sightseeing & scenery, Ireland is for you but if you want guaranteed sun, you need to look elsewhere (though there's no place like Ireland when the sun is shining - the colours are amazing)
People appear to be friendly but the fact that capitalism has taken over in recent years means that your pound or euro doesn't stretch too far & everything seems to be costly especially eating out.
You should visit for sure, Ryan Air & Aer Lingus both do very low cost flights from most UK airports.
Also a great teddy bear museum used to be located in Trim - http://www.tedseclecticlot.com |
