I'm Irish, but I'm not being biast, I think people are very friendly (especially in Donegal and the West) and the food is good. The weather is as you can imagine kind of crap! but this Summer it is giving good weather.
The Only downer is the prices.
Good Luck! You will have a brilliant time!

Good for you!

I worked over there for a few months in County Kerry and it was wonderful. The scenery was marvelous, the food was excellent, and the people were extremely friendly.

I had such a blast working there that I went back on vacation the following year!

Have fun!

I was in Ireland for 2 weeks over Christmas and new year, it was great.

The people are very friendly. It is a beautiful place. There's so much to see and do. Giant's Causeway, Glendalough..city center Dublin. I also felt very safe there.
In fact I loved it so much I'm moving there in a few months time :)

I live here. It's probably one of the safest countries in the world to live, certainly one of the friendliest. Things are changing however with the huge influx of immigrants - but that is not something that we should give off about.

Wasn't the rest of the world only good enough to open its arms to all of us irish?

Ach, lucky you...I am SOOOO jealous!!
Ireland is the most beautiful place there is and the people are wonderful!! I hope to live there for a while sometime. It just really gets to me...(sigh)
Best wishes! Have FUN!!

You'll love it... make sure that you cover the whole island. If you can spare the cash ( not much) and the time away from studies, try to visit different towns and areas...B&B's are a great way to go... you meet down to earth " real" people and you're treated like a member of the family for a day or two. I wish I could remember the names of all the towns and pubs I visited... but a few that stick out are Skibereen and Kinsale..."resorty", Killibegs ( a real fishing town)... Doolin ( music in the street)...
Oh! What the heck, you'll meet someone who will want to take you all over.
