I spent two months there and it was great. I got a car and drove from Dublin up to Belfast, Derry, Sligo, Galway, Cork and Back to Dublin, with plenty of one, two and tree night stops in between. You must decide when you want to go - what time of the year; whether you like cities or countryside; whether you want to go by train, bus ,car or on a walking holiday- whether you feel like spending time at the coast or inland? fortunately Ireland isn't very big and you can do combinations of many of these things.
Here are a few stories to put you on the right rack and help you make up your mind. |

I'm here at the moment, is her eon my 5'th week. Amazing place, and you really should come here.
The country and nature is so beautiful, just like you see in the pictures.
I've been staying in Cork City, ad seen a lot of the places around here. I can definitely recommend that you go to Blarney castle and kiss the stone. i know it's a very "touristy" thing to do, but it is quite fun, and the area around the castle is extremely beautiful. Also, pay a visit to Kinsale, and Charles Fort. Go to Kilarney, and go on the Ring Of Kerry (Don't forget your camera - that is the most beautiful nature ever). Also, you should go to Coph, which is a nice little harbor city. And, of course, go to Dublin. Nice, beautiful city, but be prepared for a lot of people.
I would recommend that you always go on a guided tour bus when you go somewhere. Again, very touristy, but you learn a lot about the places that way, and get information about the places, that you wouldn't otherwise get.
Hope I could help. |

I've been many time and I love it but, in full disclosure, my family is from there. Personally, I like the Cliffs of Moher and a small pub town nearby called Doolin (both in County Clare, not far from Shannon airport). I'm sure there are many towns on the west coast that are scenic and the people are very welcoming. Dublin's like another world from the west coast but Ireland's a small country so if you're going to go that far you might as well visit Dublin too.
The website below looks pretty good so you can check and see if there's stuff you'd be interested in.

I agree, the Cliffs of Moher & Doolin are wonderful. I also enjoyed Connemara and Connacht. Try to stay in B&B's. Great food, great experience. |

I loved Dublin, because it's a very "young" city, and has a lot to do for young adults. Galway is pretty nice, but when I was there we had hurricane force winds and torrential rain, so it wasn't very enjoyable. County Kerry is awesome. |
