Have any of you ever cut your own hair, recently or when you were a growing up?

Has anyone ever cut their own hair either recently or when you were growing up? What did your mother or father say or do, did they go apes**t or just laugh or put you outside the house to scare away burglars? Did you put a bowl on your head and give yourself one of those Emo Philips haircuts he used to have or like what monks had two or three hundred years ago?

I should be doing something else
Yes, when I was about 13 one of my friends assured me that she could cut layers into my hair, it ended up looking like Freddie Krueger had done it and I almost got laughed out of the hairdressers when I went down to get it fixed :(
Kids, eh!

Sshhhh! It's Podge and Rodge
Take a look at our hair.
Does it look as if we go to Peter Mark's?

When i was small my mam tried to "fix" my fringe after she thought the hairdresser had cut it crooked! It ended up about half an inch long.

Manys the rainy day I've found a scissors lying about the house and just started snipping away little bits.....always ends in me clipping back a bit that's too short, but I never seem to learn.....

Orla C
Yes, it was many years ago. Of course they didn't like it. I didn't even have a style in mind, I was just playing with the scissors.

Christine
I remember I was about 11 and I cut one lump of hair from the tip of my head, when it grew back it suck up very blatantly for all to see. I had to put a clip in it to keep it from being too obvious, as I have naturally straight hair. I don't remember my parents being too annoyed with me, probably just thought I was being 'a bit dozy' again, as in the usual.

My dad cut my younger sisters fringe once, complete disaster, it was cut at a 75% angle, awful looking, thank god hair grows

bluebell
Never had the courage to cut my own (can't adequately see the back view behind me!!) but I cut all my children's, until they were teenagers with part time jobs and prepared to pay the hairdresser themselves. And most other mothers did the same.

when i was 9 i cut the front bits of my hair really short as a dare. My mam brought me to the hairdressers straight away and i had to get the rest of my hair cut really short to level up with the front. lol

Alan M
I always cut my own hair. Saves money and time. Still single though.

Misty Blue
I've often cut my own hair and a damned good job I make of it,if I say so myself.
