Queen of the Stone Age

Have u ever been to Mayo?

What did u think of it?

Aye a few times. Went on stag night to Castlebar last summer and it was the best one I've been on. Galway and Sligo are unwelcoming of stag parties - maybe its because we came down from the 'North'.. but Castlebar was great, good pubs, friendly people, beautiful girls and everyone was welcoming.

Having said that if your asking me what I think I think of the Mayo football team I'd say they are the biggest underachievers in Ireland. But then that title used to belong to us in Tyrone so...

Ballina is good craic, loads of salmon fishers all around the town and county.

Its is truly beautiful place, and I have yet to meet one sane person from the place, so I take that as a good sign.

echo
Mayo has some lovely scenery & of course the shrine at Knock.
I'm biased as my family live in Ballina.

Went to the shrine at knock when i was a boy many a year ago, can't remember much about the county, would imagine it's a nice place most places are in Ireland.

Hello,
County Mayo, is a very beautiful part of ireland, and if you are a devout Cathlic, you simply must visit Knock shrine, and maybe even go around the museum there too, very nice . there are some fabulous beaches in Mayo, and it's not unusal to find you have an entire Beach to yourself, so bring food and a way to make a hot drink, a thermos is a good idea. I think Couty Mayo is very restful and a nice calming place too. There 's some lovely roads to drive along, and I just know you are going to love the whole of the county, look south, and in the distance you can make out CONNEMARA, look West, and see thwe curvature of the earth on the Atlantic Ocean, I simply adore the place. I hope you do too.I have answered your question under the assumption that you are going on holiday there, but if you already live there, you will understand all I have said about Mayo.and I think you are a very lucky person to live in such a wonderful and very peaceful part of my country, Enjoy.........Tony M
