Yes.I lived in Ireland for 14 years.To me Ireland is a wonderful place.They people in general are very friendly.My neighbours that I had became more like family.I couldn't have asked for a better country to have raised my children in their early years.It's a very safe country for children to play outside,as all the neighbours where I was living would keep a eye out for each others children while the children were out playing.To me the education system is fantastic(at all levels).To me Ireland has a great tax system for families.The medical system I find is good(although alot of people wouldn't agree).

I have been there 5 times, and I have cousins in the north and in ths south. I love the place. For such a small island, there really is varied scenery and countryside. The southwest part is almost subtropical because of the Gulf Stream.

The people are very friendly, and the food is getting better. Of course, good old fish and chips tastes good anywhere.

There are plenty of things to do - the ruined and not ruined castles, pony trekking on the beach or inland, hiking up small mountains, hitting bars and clubs in the cities, museums (some are kind of "living museums" which is cool), you can go fly fishing for trout, shopping for crystal/china/clothes, windsurf on Lough Neigh (my brother did this).

Twice. It's a wonderful country and the people are very friendly and helpful. It's an easy trip to do as most everyone speaks english and it's easy/fun to navigate your way if you rent a car.

I've been to Ireland 3 times and will be returning for my 4th visit in December. I can't get enough of the beautiful country. The rugged landscape is gorgeous, and there is so much history to be discovered. The people too were very friendly.

Someone mentioned food...I was surprised at what a wide variety of foods are available. There is everything from traditional Irish dishes to typical American burgers and fries (chips). I noticed that Indian food is also very popular, especially curry.

Ireland offers so many things to do, that it is nearly impossible to become bored. You can explore castles and forts, fish in clear unpoluted waters, take a boat to visit wild dolphins up close in their natural habitat, hike through amazingly green hills full of wildflowers, visit a working farm and try your hand at milking a cow or shearing a sheep, go to a pub for a drink and enjoy traditional music and dance...the list goes on.

Rain is probably the only hastle that you might encounter. If you have a strong umbrella and warm clothes, it becomes only a minor inconvenience.

It's incredibly beautiful, the people are the BEST, it's a wonderful mix of everything new and old.
I've been twice and am going again, hopefully in September. I haven't been to the east coast, but I'm not interested in the Big City; I LOVE the Irish countryside, the mountains and the beaches. Kerry was my favorite, but I thought Mayo had a kind of wild, untamed beauty.
If you live there Hon, be happy for being so lucky :)

Ireland is awesome and I would go back tomorrow if I could! I was there 2 years ago for about 10 days and love it. Spent time in Dublin, Killarney and Cashel (Co. Galway). Get there if you can!!
