Christmas Eve is great in Dublin, there is a great buzz about the place and full of people. However most people start to head home to the suburbs after 7 in the evening and pubs will then start to close so the staff can get home. But if you have booked into a hotel you'll be fine, the bar will remain open.

As for Christmas Day, Dublin can be like a ghost town, which can be very nice, you'll have the place to yourself. Again if you have booked into a hotel then you'll have the hotel bar open and you'll get dinner. You can walk around the city and pop into the large hotels, they are usually open and will let you in for drinks, you should also get dinner, but stick to the big hotels.

nothing at all. a few 24 hours shops and petrol stations stay open, but that's about it. If you're lucky, the hotel bar might be open....and even then they will only serve residents of the hotel. i'd advise you to stock up on alcohol and have a party in your room or something. christmas eve is a brilliantly fun night to go out on. but be warned, the pubs close at about 12. then you can spend the next day recovering from your night out or something.

Christmas in Ireland is Family Lockdown, my friend. Make the most of the day in the hotel, but don't expect anything to happen anywhere else.

There are no Pubs, or Restaurants open on Christmas Day in Ireland Where are you Staying? if in a Hotel, then you may find that they will be able to serve Residents only. However, if you are not booked into a Hotel, you will probably be too late now. Sorry, but I hope you enjoy your stay in Dublin, and that you do have a Happy Birthday.

A few hotels will do Christmas dinner, but you have to book well in advance.

Pubs close for 2 days a year in Ireland, Christmas day and good Friday, however some hotels will be open, so I hope you've booked yourself into one, if so you should be fine.

Another note, the bars don't open on St Stephens day until late afternoon!! But go to Leopardstown race track for a day at the races (horse races) to kill time while your waiting.

ps St Stephens day is boxing day

Happy Birthday for Christmas Day

Google for Dublin Tourist information as they will have up to date info on where can go and what you can do.

Blessed Be X
