In the republic of Ireland 02 is the best. |

I use the 02 network myself. |

meteor reception is unless was on that network before and changed over to vodafone |

If I were you I'd go with 02, not vodaphone they are crap. I've heard lots of stories from people having trouble getting coverage. I am with 02 for years and I've never had a problem. |

vodafone has the best nationwide coverage. Meteor is catching up though. |

I get O2. |

Meteor is crap! i work for there customer care and half the calls I get are from people with crap coverage, most of the time there from the west or south!
What sometimes happens when your with meter and in the south/west you 'piggyback' off another network (vodafone agreed to let meteor customers use the network for meteor prices, customers money goes to meteor as usual but then meteor has to pay vodafone.)
Im waffling now, point is vodafone has best coverage! meteor may be cheaper but whats the point in having cheap calls when you cant hear the person on the other end of the phone?
Vodafone all the way!
i dont know how good O2's coverage is but I couldnt care if they had the best coverage and free calls, there cutomer service is awfull! When I was in training with meteor we had to call other networks and see how good we found the customer service. i was on hold for AGES and when i got through to someone, she hardly spoke a word of english and didnt know what a tariff was! |

O2 is best for most of the country, Vodaphone is ok but you'll have problems if you travel a lot. Stay clear of meteor and 3 |

Do you mean the south part of Ireland, or do you mean the republic? Either way I'd go for O2, or else Vodafone. |

Kris......

They are both very good, although I think vodafone is more popular. |

I am in Waterford and I have O2 which is fine, I think the signal is better on vodafone though |

Depends on where you're talking about. If you mean the south part of the island (i.e.Cork, Kerry Waterford, Tipperary etc) then DON'T get Meteor, the reception is crap down here. Vodafone has the best coverage, followed by O2. I don't know anyone on 3. |

O2 is best. Don't go anywhere near Vodafone. We had a run-in with that crowd and we got no satisfaction from them.
Also if you're using 'Ready to go', Vodafone will make you top up your credit every few months and they won't let you call or text until you do, even if you have a fortune left in credit.
O2 all the way! |
