It shouldn't - your best bet would be to talk to someone in a phone shop about it but i think that the phones use different frequencies in the states and here and so i don't think phones bought over there work over here

Before you leave, make sure you call your service provided to enable calling from overseas.

Also, make sure your phone is quadband or triband.

make sure you purchase a triband/quadband phone

just get your own phone unblocked and get a sim card over there, or buy a sim free phone here that isn't locked to any network. but make sure you have a triband or quadband model or it won't work in the states. hope that helps =)

i wouldnt dream of doing that, waste of ££ it wont work unless you get it unblocked, see your local hone store
