I've heard it often. Where do you live in the US? Just like Colm and Conan, it's a regular name in Irish neighborhoods due to Irish parents.
The US doesn't pronounce all the C's in names like K's as the Irish do, so that's where they go wrong with the pronunciation. It's like mispronouncing Jesus as Gee-sus rather than Hay-zeus in a latino neighborhood, which is common mistake non Spanish speakers make. |
