How are Catholic schools in Ireland funded? |

Most schools are state schools, and are funded by the state regardless of creed, and education is free except for the "voluntary contribution" requested by schools from parents.. Private schools (and there are a few) are fee-based. |

All schools are part funded by the state, but some schools get more money. My school is still run by the nuns, but the school up the road from where my brother went me is state run. They get three times the funding we do. My school is in serious debt.
Our latest way to save money/energy is using less heat and light. Read between the lines, they're turning off the heat more often. It's freezing! It's well below 14 degrees. |

If they are also state schools, they are state-funded. |

they get the normal state funding and then if they're private, the parents pay a fortune too... |

ALL religious schools in Ireland are Government funded
As in any true Republic. freedom of religion is guaranteed.
Even in the case of private schools, teachers are paid from
state funding.
A capitation grant is made on the pupil roll list.
(Realistically, much depends on parents' top up subscriptions.) |

Well all public schools are funded by the Government. It just so happens that 98% of all primary schools are Catholic.
Secondary schools is the same thing, but the % would be slightly lower. |

by the state, funded (and run) the same as community schools |

the state run it. The whole "catholic" thing is kinda going out the window the last decade. apart from convent schools, you can pretty much call all schools now "non-denominational". I went to a "catholic" state funded primary school, but then went to a private "non-denominational" secondary school which received no funding from the government whatsoever. |
